Applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following positions in Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.

A. ACADEMIC POSITIONS

1. FACULTY OF CLINICAL SCIENCES

Department of Medicine

Positions Area of Specialization

Lecturer I – CONUASS 04 Neurology

Candidates must have the current practicing license of the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN), must have completed the Residency training in Internal Medicine (Physic) and must have an award of the Fellowship of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (FMCP) or its equivalent. Evidence of publications in reputable journals would be an added advantage.

2. FACULTY OF EDUCATION

Department of Educational Foundation and Counseling

Position Area of Specialization

Lecturer II – CONUASS 03 Test and Measurements.

Candidates must possess minimum of Ph. D. degree in Test and Measurement
with evidence of scholarly publications. Candidates must possess the ability for
instruction at postgraduate level.

Department of Special Educational and Curriculum
Studies

Position Area of Specialization

Assistant Lecturer - CONUASS 02 Social Studies.

Applicants must possess a good Master’s degree in Social Studies from a
reputable University and must be eligible for a Ph.D. Proficiency in
Computer is an added advantage.

3. FACULTY OF ENVIRONMENTAL DESIGN AND MANAGEMENT

Department of Urban and Regional Planning

Position Area of Specialization

Graduate Assistant – CONUASS 01 Urban and Regional Planning

Candidates must possess Bachelors Degree in Urban and regional Planning with not less than Second Class Upper Division and must be sound in the use of AUTOCARD and GIS. Such candidates’ duties will include teaching, research, students’ supervision and community service.

4. FACULTY OF PHARMACY

(i) Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry

Positions Area of Specialization

(i) Lecturer I/II - CONUASS 04/03 Pharmaceutical Chemistry

(ii) Assistant Lecturer – CONUASS 02

Candidates must be registered pharmacists with postgraduate qualification(s) in Pharmaceutical Chemistry. Candidates with some years of teaching experience and evidence of publications in reputable journals may be appointed to enhance levels.

Interested young Pharmacy graduates with excellent qualifications and desire for postgraduate training in Pharmaceutical Chemistry may be considered for employment as Junior Trainee Fellow.

(ii) Drug Research and Production Unit

Position Area of Specialization

Research Fellow I Biochemical Pharmacology

Candidates must possess a Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry or Pharmaceutical Sciences with interest in Biochemical Pharmacology. However, candidates with lower qualifications in the interest area would be considered at a lower entry level.



B. NON TEACHING POSITIONS

1. PHYSICAL PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT UNIT.

(i) Senior Technical Officer (Architecture) - CONTISS 08 (N671, 747.00-N998, 031.00)

Candidates must possess HND or its equivalent in Architecture with a minimum of 3 years post qualification experience.

(ii) Higher Technical Officer (Quantity Surveying) – CONTISS 07
(N 579,391.00 – N 857, 305. 00)

Applicants must possess HND or its equivalent in Quantity Surveying. Post Graduate Diploma in relevant field will be of added advantage.

(iii) Clerk of Works/Senior Technical Officer (Mechanical) – CONTISS 08 (N671, 747.00-N998, 031.00)

Candidates must possess HND or its equivalent in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 3 years relevant post qualification experience.

(iv) Clerk of Works/Senior Technical Officer (Electrical) – CONTISS 08 (N671,747.00-N998,031.00)

Candidates must possess HND or its equivalent in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 3 years post qualification experience.

2. FACULTY OF PHARMACY

Drug Research and Production Unit

(i) Senior Pharmacist - CONTISS 11 (N973, 305.00-N1, 375,535.00)

Candidates must possess a Bachelor of Pharmacy from Obafemi Awolowo University or any recognized University and must be registered with the Pharmacist Council of Nigeria. A minimum of six (6) years post registration cognate experience is required. A postgraduate degree in Pharmaceutical Technology will be an added advantage.

(ii) Technologist I/Senior Technical Officer (Taxonomist) – CONTISS 08 (N671, 747.00 – N998, 031.00)

Candidates must possess a minimum of H.N.D or University degree with a bias in Forestry plus a minimum of five (5) years cognate experience in Forestry/Field Taxonomy. A higher degree in relevant discipline will be an added advantage.

Candidates applying as Lecturer I in Physiotherapy must have BMR, PT or B.Sc., PT and M.Sc with Ph.D and three (3) publications in reputable journals. Applicants must have current MRTB license while those applying as Lecturer II must have BMR, PT or B.Sc., PT or B.Sc., PT and M.Sc.

Those applying as Lecturer I/II in Occupational Therapy must have B.Sc. in Occupational Therapy with M. Sc. Degree. Applicant must have current MRTB license. Experience of teaching in the University or equivalent institution will be an added advantage.


B. JUNIOR STAFF POSITIONS

Candidates must possess GCE/SSCE passes in 5 subjects at one sitting including three (3) Credit passes in chemistry, Biology, Physics or Mathematics OR Year II Preliminary Examination of the City and Guilds of London Institute.


(2) Hezekiah Oluwasanmi Library

Library Assistant - CONTISS 03 (N162, 027.00 – N251, 039.00)

Candidates must possess five (5) credits passes including English Language at not more than two sittings in GCE/SSC.
