A medical oncologist who sees patients in Nigeria on a quarterly basis; requires a part time administrative and physician liaison officer.Position: Administrative Associate- Cancer ClinicsInitial Job Descriptiona. Part-time position requiring 4-10 hours a week to co-ordinate and facilitate planned cancer consultations in Nigeria.b. The individualwill be expected to visit health care facilities designated and directed by the oncologist or his colleagues.c. Set up appointmentsand confirm patient readiness and willingness to be seen if diagnosed.d. Book and confirm appointments dates for consultations.e. Fully describe the consultation process, fees and requirements to thr patient and relatives.f. Access voice mail, email and/or any other designated electronic media at leastonce a weekand update the oncologist by either text messaging, email or phone call.g. confirm availability of all medicail records and help direct patients in obtaining requested tests in preparation for oncology consultation.h. Facilitae initial discussion by telephone usually; between the oncologist and the referral medical doctor/health care practitioner as soon as a patient needing an oncology consultation is identified.i. Perform other appropriate duties as assigned by the oncologist.j. This position will require travel between 2-3 major cities in Nigeria;by air with appropriate accomodation arrangements. These will mostly occur while the oncologist is in Nigeria.Preliminary QualificationsThis graduate job vacancy in Nigeria requires the following qualifications:1. A Science degree (B.Sc or higher) from a reputabloe University within the pat 10 years.2. Prior experience working in a health care setting is recomended but not required.3. Ability to understand basic medical terminologies.4. Computer literate- Word Excel and Email.
